“Education for Everyone” is the main aim of West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open Schooling. Who are unable to get education due to any reason, WBCROS is for that persons. A learner who can not qualify in board exam, or unemployed or who don’t have enough time, can admit here. Actually it is for that persons. And by thinking that, the rules and regulations are quite soft that other organizations. After doing this course, you are also eligible to do any further course from a open university. Like Netaji Subhas Open University and Indira Gandhi National Open University, it also provide distance education on some courses.

MADHYAMIK
Time of Admission:
- Two times in a year – June and December.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum age of admission in the Madhyamik Course is 14 years. There is no upper age limit for admission.
- Have to submit a pass certificate of class VIIIth standard from any school or submits a self declaration to the effect that he/she has attained the qualification of class VIIIth standard.
* A learner who appeared in the Madhyamik Examination previously but did not passed in the Examination beyond a period of five years from the date of the last examination, then he/she can take admission at Madhyamik level in WBCROS. In that case they will be entitled for benefit of credit transfer in respect of some subjects. The facility of this Credit transfer will be allowed to a learner for a period of maximum five years from the date of his/her last examination.
Course Duration:
- The learner will be permitted to seat for the examination one year after the completion of the registration. A learner need not appear in all his/her subjects at a time and can avail himself/herself of a maximum of nine chances at an interval of six months with five years to complete the course.
Course Fee:
- Prospectus Price -Rs.25/-
- Admission Fees Rs. 150/- (For General Male Candidate). For Female, SC, ST and Physically challenged candidates no admission fee is required.
- Subject Fees Rs. 200/- (For Bengali only)
- Other Subject Fee: Rs. 100/- (Each Subject) [Subject fee are applicable for all categories]
- Credit Transfer Fee: For Bengali: Rs.100/- and For Other Subject.: Rs.50/- (Each Subject (Credit fee are applicable only for Credit Transfer learner)

The first eight subjects are compulsory subjects and a learner get chance to choose one additional subject out of last four subjects.
HIGHER SECONDARY
Time of Admission:
- Only one time in a year : August – October.
Eligibility Criteria:
- There is no upper age limit to take admission in Higher Secondary level course.
* A learner who appeared in the Higher Secondary Examination but did not passed in the Examination beyond a period of five years from the date of last examination ,then he/she can take admission at Higher Secondary level in WBCROS.
Course Duration:
- The learner shall be eligible to sit in the Higher Secondary Examination one year after his/her first enrollment or registration in Higher Secondary level course of study in at most three subjects as he/she desires and in all subjects at the end of the second year onwards up to the end of five years after first enrollment.
Course Fee:
- Prospectus Price Rs.30/-
- Admission Fees Rs. 200/- (For General Male Candidate) and Rs. 100/- For Female, SC, ST and Physically challenged candidates.
- Non Lab based Subject Rs. 200-/ (for each subject)
- Lab based Subject Rs. 300-/ (for each subject) [Subject fee are applicable for all categories]
- For Each Credit Subject Rs.100/- (Credit fee are applicable only for Credit Transfer learner)

Rabindra Open School Admission and Application Process
- Visit the official website of WBCROS- http://www.twbcros.org and read all the guidelines and terms of conditions very carefully.
- Visit your nearest study center and collect the prospectus (by paying the fee) with the application form.
- Fill up the application form carefully. Folding, stiching, stapling or any type of changing the shape of the forms is strictly prohibited. You can use only the james clips. Use only the black or blue ball pen. No whitener can be used for correction of any mistake. A square space should be left blank after a complete word for name and address etc. Sample copy of the form is attached below –
- Attach the important credentials with it.
- Make a Demand Draft of the Application fees. “The Rabindra Nath State Council of Open Schooling Fund” (Ask details to the supervisor of the study center)
- Submit the Application form, Important credentials and the Draft to the Study center within the date mentioned by the authority.
Important Credentials
You have to carry the following credentials with you at the time of admission in study center –
- Documentary evidence of age proof
- Two recent Stamp Size Photograph (size-3.5 cm X 2.5cm)
- Voter identity card
- Certificate of S.C. /S.T. candidates. (if applicable)
- Certificate of physically challenged (if applicable)
- All photocopies of all relevant documents should be duly attested by any of the gazette Officer/H.M. of a recognized Higher Secondary School/Principal of a College.
- Original failed Madhyamik Marksheet ( only for Credit transfer learner)
- Original Migration Certificate (for other than West Bengal State Boards & Councils).

Admission of Madhyamik –
- 16.01.2018 to 07.02.2018 and documents have to be submitted on or before 12.02.2018 (Dec 2017 Session)
- 13.07.2018 to 14.08.2018 and documents have to be submitted on or before 17.08.2018 (June 2018 Session)
- 24.10.2018 to 26.12.2018 and documents have to be submitted on or before 04.01.2019 (Dec 2018 Session)
Admission of Higher Secondary –
- 17.08.2017 to 25.10.2017 and documents have to be submitted on or before 03.11.2017. (Dec 2017 Session)
- 10.08.2018 to 24.10.2018 and documents have to be submitted on or before 14.11.2018. (Dec 2018 Session)

Important Message
- To change any subject preference you have to contact in study center within 2 months after taking admission with requisite fees.
- Course fees can be paid in Offline mode (Demand Draft) only.
- Be sure about your eligibility (from the prospectus) before taking admission. Because if there are found any discrepancy, admission will be canceled without refund any application fee.
- Do not pay any extra fees. They have no right to demand any extra money. In such circumstances you may contact in the main office mentioned above.
