West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) will release a notification regarding West Bengal Primary Teacher Recruitment 2023 examination for the recruitment of Assistant Primary Teacher in the Primary school of class I to V. They do not publish any other advertisement regarding Exam dates, No of vacancy or detail application process. WB Primary TET Eligibility Criteria
- The candidates must have to be passed Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent examination with 50% marks. (For SC/ST/OBC-A, OBC-B/PH / EC/ Ex-Serviceman and DH (Death-in-harness, 5% marks is relaxed, that is 45%)
- The candidates with higher qualification (Graduate or Post Graduate) don’t have any marks limit in Higher Secondary.
The candidates must have the following training courses –
- 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education
- 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
- Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Final year students or who have appeared final examination of Two Year D.El.Ed. Course from NCTE / RCI recognized institutions are eligible for TET 2023.
- The candidates must have to be 18 years old.

Application Process of WB Primary TET 2023
The application process will be totally online and the TET exam will be conducted by following the NCTE guidelines. No offline application will be accepted for TET 2023.
- Step 1: First of all, applicants have to visit the West Bengal Board of Primary Education official site – https://wbbprimaryeducation.org
- Step 2: On the homepage, find and click on WBTET 2023 Application Form under the latest notifications section.
- Step 3: The application form for WBTET Exam will be available in front of your screen.
- Step 4: Please read all the instructions carefully and enter your basic details like Name, Email ID, Mob. No etc.
- Step 5: After entering the basic information, the candidates will be required to enter their educational qualifications.
- Step 6: In the next step, the candidate needs to upload all the required documents to the portal within the range of file size mentioned over there. Make sure that the documents are visible well and not blurred. Unclear and blurry documents can lead to the rejection of the application.
- Step 7: After submitting the required documents, the last and final stage is to preview the application once again and make sure that there are no mistakes and errors.
- Step 8: After reviewing the application form, the candidates can complete their application process by paying the required application fees by using Credit Card, Debit Card or any other payment method mentioned over there.
After completing the form fill-up, take a print out of the application form and fee payment receipt for future use.
WBTET Exam Fees
The candidates are required to pay the application fees online to complete WB Primary TET Application Process. Any unpaid and incomplete payment of fees will result in the rejection of the application.
The candidates belonging to the Reserved category are provided relaxation in the fees also. WBTET Exam Application fee for different categories is provided in the table below.

WB Primary TET 2023 Exam Date is published now. West Bengal Primary TET exam will be conducted on 10th December 2023.
WB Primary TET 2023 Vacancy
The total no of vacancy is not published officially. For TET 2014 the vacancy was approximately 25000 and for TET 2017 the vacancy was approximately 10000.
WB Primary TET Admit Card Download
Applicants have to download the admit card online from the official website. No admit card will be delivered to your home address through post. So it is your duty to keep you updated regarding the publication of admit card and download it only through official portal of WBBPE.
How to Download WBTET Admit Card?
- Step 1: Visit the official website of WBTET – wbbpe.org.
- Step 2: The direct link to the Admit Card will be active on the homepage of the website, find and click on that link.
- Step 3: Now, on the next page, enter your login credentials and hit the submit button.
- Step 4: Your WBTET Admit Card will be displayed on the screen, check all the details and download it for the exam.
- Step 5: Take a print out of the admit card to get allow in the examination hall. (Color print out of admit card is not mandatory for exam)

Selection Process
The total selection process for the post of Assistant Teacher will go through the following steps –
- Step 1 : The candidates have to be appeared in TET 2023 exam on the mentioned date.
- Step 2 : The candidates have to be qualified in the exam by getting the pass marks (Pass mark is 60% of total marks, that is 60% of 150 = 90).
- Step 3 : The candidates have to be attain and clear the interview or viva.
- Step 4 : The candidates have to presence for the selection of school in the district board on the mentioned date in the intimation letter, provided to the final round qualified candidates.
If any candidate fail to show the required original documents in Step 3, his/her candidature will be cancelled then.
WB Primary TET Exam 2023 Cutoff Marks
The Cutoff mark is the minimum mark that is required to clear the examination and to get allow in the interview/viva. All the candidates who score marks equal to or more than the cutoff marks will be selected for Interview. WBTET Cutoff marks are decided as per the NCTE’s guidelines.
As per the board’s guidelines, the candidates belonging to the Unreserved category must score at least 60% marks in WBTET Exam to be eligible for further rounds of selection. Also, relaxations are provided to the candidates belonging to the backward and reserved categories. The category-wise minimum qualifying marks for WBTET Exam are provided in the table below.

The candidates who will qualify the exams with the above cutoff marks will be shortlisted for further rounds of selection. The board releases the final list of the candidates on the basis of the above-mentioned criteria. Also, the board releases the category-wise marks for the final selection.

West Bengal Board of Primary Education Merit List
The merit list of TET 2023 written exam and interview will be published by following the criteria –
- The merit list of written exam will be published for both selected and non-selected candidates. The result can be checked through online by entering their roll no in the following websites – www.wbbpe.org or www.wbresults.nic.in
- The merit list of interview/viva will be published for both selected and non-selected candidates also. The merit list may be published through some panel and also some times. The result can be checked through online in the following websites – www.wbbpe.org or www.wbresults.nic.in
The SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PH, EC, Ex-Serviceman and DH (Death-in-harness) candidates will get 5% relaxation in qualifying marks (i.e 55%) and 5% relaxation in Senior Secondary or its equivalent examination (i.e 45%) for appearing in WB Primary TET 2023.
How to Check Result of TET 2023
The candidates can check their WBTET Primary Results using their roll number on the official website. No mark will be display over there. It will show only Qualified or Disqualified. The steps to check the results are provided below.
- Step 1: Visit the official website of WBTET – wbbpe.org or wbbprimaryeducation.org.
- Step 2: On the official homepage, a link for the exam result will be available.
- Step 3: Click on the link to check the result.
- Step 4: You’ll be redirected to the exam result page where you have to enter your login credentials. i.e – www.wbtetresult.in
- Step 5: Enter your Roll Number and Date of Birth and click the submit button.
- Step 6: Your WBTET 2023 result will be displayed on the screen, save and download the result.
